Compared my Walrus 10kWh heater with some others and the advantage of the Walrus is: 1 less compact build so that other components do not get overheated. Easy to access different parts without almost complete disassembling. This heater does not get disabled after a couple of errors, which avoids extra trips to a dealer to get it reset. 2. improved the working at colder temperatures by Preheated the fuel by running the fuel line around the outgoing water line, Preheated air intake by clamping together with the exhaust over about 1-2 ft distance. 3. by doing so i got it to work even down to -40°C and increased the fuel efficiency by 25%!! Also mainenance could be extended to 3x longer time period.
4. with the simple alterations the expected life time can be exceeded to 3 or 4x the original. Less soot deposits, less failures.

Our heater in the boat runs great and the customer service is exceptional! We had an issue with the programable display and when you call the company, someone answers and helps you though the issue. We liked the product and service so much, we recommended them to a friend who also purchased a heater for their boat. This company treats you right. I'd buy their products again, without hesitation. Customer service was unbelievable. I bought a gas air heater, left Missouri for a 4 week vacation thru Colorado, Utah, and Nevada with a fresh van build and had issues with it at altitude. An affiliate with General Components just happened to be in Denver, got in touch with me, we met, and within minutes corrected the issue. I installed a check valve on the wrong side of the pump 😞 I’ve been toasty every night since. Great customer service!
Jackie helped us to identify the issue on our heater so we could fix it. Their heaters work well. The "only" things is, depending, of where you are it might be hard to find a dealer specialized in their product if you need maintenance or repairs. (But it's  easy to manage by ourselves usually, as soon as we know how to do the maintenance).

I purchased the Whale 2 in 1 cooktop/ heater in March 2022. I run this almost everyday as a heater in my 30' boat and use the cooktop occasionally. Its SUPER efficient and runs around 13watts at 12v. Keeps my boat cabin toasty. I am so impressed with this heater stove combo. I have had questions about this unit and called General Components directly. They are easy to get in touch with and knowledgeable about their equipment. I highly recommend General Components.
